Installing a Bathroom Fan?
Our main bathroom does not have a fan and it desperately needs one. We're developing mold from baths/ showers.
Would we need to hire an electrician for this? We would need to cut through the drywall but I'm not sure if I need a handyman or something else.

Installing a Bathroom Fan?
they'll have to probably vent it outside also-otherwise the air doesn't go anywhere (we have a fan, but the people who installed it didn't vent it outside, so it's pointless-ugh)
i would probably call a contractor though

Re: Installing a Bathroom Fan?
If you mount it on an exterior wall, you'll need to open a hole in the sheetrock, run electricity to it, and to a wall switch, cut a hole on the outside of the house, and trim off the opening so rain can't get in. If it's on the 2nd floor ceiling, you'll need to cut a hole in the roof, run ducting from the fan to the roof, then finish off the roof vent and flashing. If it's a 1st floor ceiling mount, you'll need to duct the air out of the house, possibly between the floor joists, or building a bulkhead to hide the ductwork, then do the outside vent and flashing.
You'll definitely need someone more than an electrician, since there is ductwork, flashing, possible siding work, possible roofing work, etc.

I would say maybe to hire a A/c tech to help with the cutting of the walls because a electrician won't do those things. Or maybe even a handy man around your area could get the job done I'm sure, just make sure you check references first.

An electrician should be able to do the whole thing, just make sure you get a good one...
