Any ER tips?

So its looking like my ER will be on Monday...does anyone have any words of wisdom or tips for me? Do's & Dont's???

I am such a wuss with pain and thats all I can think about...My DH wont be home with me all day since he has to go back to work Chat Icon but I told my SIL about what we were doing so she will be coming over to stay with me that day Chat Icon...I dont want to be alone just in case something happens and who knows how I will react.

Thanks guys!!! I really dont know how I would have gotten thru this without this group Chat Icon

For me, the ER was the easier part since I was knocked out! I woke up with pain afterwards (but I have chronic pain issues, so it was expected). They gave me some pain meds and it was gone after a short time. Most people are up and at em right after!! Just go home and take it easy afterwards.

You'll be fine. Keep hydrated, follow drs orders to help with bloat, no stairs, lifting, exercising, etc. bc your ovaries will be swollen and enlarged.

Good luck! Well be thinking of you!

you really wont be in much pain at all. if you have a ton of eggs you might be crampy later in the day but usually they put something in the IV at the end that helps you feel ok for a few hours after. just plan to take it easy for a day or two after cause if you have a lot of eggs you will prob feel some discomfort the next day although i def wouldn't call it pain. just some abdominal discomfort for the most part. def drink products with electrolytes and eat small meals to reduce the bloating. good luck!

You know I am praying for you! Lay in bed and drink your Gatorade! They will tell you to stay away from carbs and more protein. I had ohss so I had to measure my urine output, my weight and they also gave me some medication for it. I do not think you'll be in too much pain just sleepy! Best of luck!

For me the ER was a breeze. I woke up feeling great, had no pain at all - not even any discomfort. The next day I didn't feel so hot but nothing crazy. Just bloated and a little sore. By 3 days after I was basically feeling back to normal.

I woke up from the ER in pain- I had a lot of eggs. They gave me meds but I didn't really feel better until I went home and slept. Lots of luck to you!!

Definitely drink plenty and get rest before and after. It really is so easy because you are knocked out. I had a lot of pain afterwards because of OHSS, but the other girls I saw there the same day were up and out no problem.

Re: Any ER tips?

Honestly, getting the IV was the worst part for me. I woke up feeling great and was in no pain at all. I still got plenty of rest though. Good luck!

Any ER tips?

I think it depends. I had high E2 levels and a decent amount of follicles and I wound up being uncomfortable for 3 days and I am usually really good about pain. I thought I was "better" on day 2 and exerted myself too much (just cleaning the house) - just remember to take it easy for a few days.

Best of luck tomorrow
