A bunch of my friends just delivered there and they all had private rooms at no extra cost. They got lucky though bc the private rooms were available when they gave birth

in 2010 we paid 220 per night, but i bet it went up.
as far as i know, they are making every effort to keep all rooms private unless absolutely necessary to double up.
Word of advice, as soon as your walk through L&D doors, have your name put on the list for a private room.

We all get private rooms now unless there are a lot of births at that time.

Wow! When I delivered there last September I had to share a room. It wasn't that bad but it would have been nice to have a private room. When i went into labor it was a full moon the night before so I had to wait in triage for a delivery room to open up bc they were so busy. i hope with baby #2 i can get my own room.

This would be an example. Hopefully with #2 you don't have the same circumstances!

I delivered at end of February. I delivered late at night, and didn't get a room until 2 am. I had a roomie, but was told as they wheeled me in that she was leaving in the morning. She left the following morning and for the next 3 nights, I had the rooms to myself. the nurses all told me no one is doubled up unless they HAVE to, and when they do, they will put you with someone going home the following morning, etc.

That's what i did.

That works for me. I don't want to have to pay for a private room if they were going to give me one anyway. However if they plan on putting me with a room mate I'll pay the money.
