My first son had a major slowdown in weight gain at 4 months so our ped recommended starting cereal at that point. We waited on fruits and veggies until 6 months. With our second son, we started cereal at 6 months, upon the ped's recommendation.

Our ped said it was fine to start at 4 months. That's when we started cereal.
