cruising with 2 toddlers
My cousin is having a destination wedding next year on a cruise. What kind of room would you recommend getting for 2 adults and DS (will be 4.5) and DD (who will be almost 3). Do you think some kind of suite is necessary with 4 people?
Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!
Eta: its royal caribbean if that makes a difference!

I would think about a Verandah/Balcony stateroom so you and DH will have somewhere to relax while the littles nap.
I don't think you really need a suite, but think about the room and where everyone will sleep. Some rooms are more built for families than others.
A cruise wedding sounds like SO much fun!

Re: cruising with 2 toddlers
You don't need a suite. But I would consider a balcony room for extra space. I think RCCL offers family rooms which would be slightly larger and set up for families. We sailed on Celebrity last summer and going again this summer. We get a family view room which sleep 4-5. I think most lines have something similar but some are set up better than others. Just a warning many rooms will have an upper bunk type pull down so unless you have one in a crib/pack n play and a pull out couch one will have to sleep on a pull down bunk. I'm not sure (you would have to ask a TA or on cruisecritic) if the pull out would sleep 2 small girls comfortably. I like Celebrity's family views because you get 2 couch beds instead of one couch one pull down or 2 pull downs which I wouldn't feel comfortable with a small child sleeping on.

Re: cruising with 2 toddlers
We always cruise in inside cabins. Last cruise was myself, DH, our 2 young kids, and my sister who was 11. We like to save money from room and use towards spending. We usually price out different options and just can't justify the extra expense of a balcony room.

Re: cruising with 2 toddlers
I sail RCCL a lot. Look into a junior suite, especially with two young ones. In addition to having more space, there is a pull out couch and more than enough room for a pack'n'play or a crib if you need it. Junior suites also have bathtubs instead of shower stalls, and a walk in closet with plenty of storage space.
If you go onto the RCCL website, you can see the different layouts of the rooms to see what would work the best for your family.

Re: cruising with 2 toddlers
We had a outside room with a window (no balcony) when we cruised with a 1 yr old and 2.5 yr old. The 2.5 yr old slept on the twin pullout bed, and the 1 yr old slept in the crib which fit perfectly between our king size bed and the twin bed. We had plenty of room.
Personally, I would not get the balcony for fear of my small children opening the door.
If both of your kids sleep in twin beds, you can get the bunk beds and have the king sized bed room. I've stayed in one of those before with 4 young adults and we still had plenty of room.
