Pool Company Recommendtions
If you had a pool put into your house, please recommend your pool company. We are hoping to have it in by next summer. Any advice/ suggestions are appreciated. TIA!

Pool Company Recommendtions
We use JB Pools in Seaford. They built and installed our pool (previous owners) and know it best, so we stayed with them for service as well.

Re: Pool Company Recommendtions
We just signed with South Shore Pools. Not the cheapest company out there but they are high quality. We are doing a full concrete in ground in a free form lake shape.

Re: Pool Company Recommendtions
Our pool is getting put in within the next month. We are using Arthur Edwards in Jamesport. We have been deciding when to go ahead for the past three years (we have 2 babies so we've been teeter tottering the decision). We interviewed almost all of the companies serving the east end. We saw pools for the companies we liked and seriously grilled the ones in which we had interest. We also really liked Swim King but ultimately decided on Arthur Edwards.
We don't like it when salesmen are pushy and most of them seemed to push their product and bash on competition. We immediately eliminated some pool companies based on the salespeople's pushing "to sign now". Swim king or Arthur Edwards were not like this in our experience.
IG concrete pools are about 20G, give or take (without extras) I am not sure about steel wall but I imagine that it is about the same. Also Increasing or decreasing the size generally does not cost or save you too much more. Each foot we added beyond the base price was 200 more, negligible amount considering total cost. Also beyond the base price are extras like Salt water generator is about 3G, heater 3G. Also the elephant cover (don't recall approx price). Add other bells and whistles. The base price increases very quickly when extras are added.
Someone also told us don't pick the cheapest or most expensive pool (when comparing apples to apples). There are no payment plans. We had to give a approx 2g downpayment at contract and then the balance is divided over 3 payments throughout the course of construction. Do your research. Good Luck!

Just curious if you heard that the salt water systems are corroding the metal plumbing parts in pools?? While it seems like everyone is going salt, this corrosion issue concerns me (and DH especially since he is a union plumber). South Shore told us they are having the break up pavers and replace ladders and plumbing 4-5 yrs after salt water systems are installed!!We met with Arthur Edwards, Swim King, Dunrite , LI Pool & Patio and South Shore. None of them pushed the salt water system at all.

This is is who we used. Dieter was wonderful, never pushy, met with us several times to help us with the design of the pool. We used his contractor for the brick work as well (I can't recall his name right now), but he did wonderful work as well! We did salt water and had a problem with the generator this year (pool is 2 years old) and one call to Dieter and he took care of it right away.
Eta: I just remembered the brick guys name..Hans.
