American Manicure vs French Manicure
Years ago I use to get the American Manicure instead of the French Manicure. Basically, the American is like the french, but the white part is not as bold and it looks more natural. Has anyone done this recently? I dont know the colors they used and I want to get it done on my lunch break today.

Re: American Manicure vs French Manicure
ok I did some research online. Here's what I came up with
To do am Amercian Manicure, which is "creamier" and more subtle than the stark white tip, you use the following:
For the base use one of the following: Sugar Daddy True Love Ballet Slippers
For the tip use: Marshmellow
I'm gonna go on my lunch break and do the marshmellow and the sugar daddy. I know I loved the way it looked, but I can't remember the colors I used in the past. So, I'll keep ya posted

Re: American Manicure vs French Manicure
I used to do the American Manicure when I was in High School (back in the mid 90's) and I loved it!
I remember a few years ago I wanted to do it again and I asked my salon and they had no idea what I was talking about.
Glad you found some information online. Let me know how it turns out once you get to the salon.

I used to do a very soft French, which sounds like what you are describing as an American.
I used Essie Baby's Breath as the base and Marshmallow as the tip. It was really pretty. Literally haven't done this in years, but now it's on my radar.

I've been doing this for years and years but didn't know it had a name.
I thought I had invented it. Oh well

I used to get a soft French. They painted the tip and then used the softer color OVER the white tip! Love it!

When I get it done, I use Essie's Ballet Slippers and Marshmallow for the tip. Love the way it looks!
