Re: Is 2 months long enough???

I am in the same boat. My DD is about 5 weeks, and I have taken her to my parents and brother's house. Had lunch with a friend out on an open area patio and went to BBB and BRU. But, I have not and will not take her to a mall, church or any enclosed space with a lot of people.

We do take walks with the netting on. Overall, getting out has saved my sanity and I will be home for a year so I can't lose it yet. Chat Icon

Have fun.

Re: Is 2 months long enough???

My oldest DS is a winter baby, my second is spring. Both boys were out at 1 week old.

We were at a sprinkler park today and there were 3 babies there under 3 months.

I wouldn't hole yourself up anylonger personally! Just keep the baby away from prying strangers and you will be fine!

Re: Is 2 months long enough???

we started at 8 weeks........ thats what the NICU dr recommended to us.....

before 8 weeks we took plenty of stroller walks and kept the insect netting on, so strangers wouldn't feel compelled to walk up and touch the baby- which I've heard happen to friends(and seen dh's grandma do to strangers).

ds had a bad case of pneumonia when he was born and we weren't about to have him end up back there so we followed it.

My DD just turned 2 mos yesterday.... We took her to her first restaurant on fri nite & I took her to a store today. I think ucan def start taking her out, ESP to stores or wherever during the day on weekdays when they r not so crowded.

Re: Is 2 months long enough???

I went stir crazy staying at home with my winter baby. Now that I'll have a summer baby and a 3.5 year old, I'll definitely be going out of the house early on.

I went out with both kids. Especially with my son, since my daughter was 22 months old. She could not be contained. I would definitely go out.

Is 2 months long enough???

I never knew until LIF that people didnt go out if the house with newborns. My ds was out within a few days of coming home. My dd the same thing. We had people, kids too visit within the 1st week, had my nephews under the age of 10 at the time come to the hospital.

Go out. Omg I would have killed myself if I was home for 2 months

You should do what you are comfortable with. I was one of those moms who did not take my newborns out for several months- at least 3 or 4.

Re: Is 2 months long enough???

even in winter time, i was told by my dr that fresh air would be good for DS even at just 2 weeks old as long as he was bundled up. you can def get out. i think i started bringing him shopping at around 1.5 or 2 months and it felt great getting out and going places. enjoy!!
