Boating/Beach with Baby
Thinking of taking my 6.5 month old DD to the beach on Sunday by boat- but not sure if it is a great idea. Is that too young for a baby?
ETA: What do I need to bring, besides, water, sunscreen and a sun hat? Should I bring her play pen or a tent of some sort ??

Re: Boating/Beach with Baby
We go over to Fire Island all the time with DD who is 4 months old with no problems. Definitely bring a pnp or something to put her down in for a nap. And make sure there is some place with plenty of shade for her so maybe bring an umbrella or tent. Good luck!

Re: Boating/Beach with Baby
My 8 month DS loves the beach. I don't bring a pack and play. Just toys, blanket and umbrella. My concern would be if you can leave whenever you want. I know there are times I need to leave somewhere and not sure if that is possible with the boat.

Sure, we bring our DS all the time. Just make sure that you have a life jacket that fits her!

Re: Boating/Beach with Baby
My DS is 6 mons and has been on our boat since 4 mons.
Get a life jacket (DS hates his but it is only on til we get to where we are going and then for the ride home).
Sunscreen, bottles, towels, extra clothes (changed him into new clothes after beign in the water), Baby powder (helps get sand off) and I brought a extra bottle of water so I could rinse the salt water off him.
I also had a blow up floaty that he loved being in.
