Progesterone levels

I had my first beta done on tuesday. It came back at 65. I went today for a repeat beta. I asked what my progesterone was on tuesday and she told me 14.7.

I feel like it is low. I am waiting to hear todays results and I will ask, but any idea?
I am on 1ml PIO and 1 suppository at night.

that does sound a little low for PIO but you would only see blood #s increase with PIO, not with supps, so if you are on supps too at least you know that there is some progesterone that isn't accounted for. you can always ask to increase the PIO to 1.5 or 2 and see if that increases the blood #s. good luck!

I think they would have said something if they were concerned and upped your supp does. Maybe they want to see if it goes up before making you concerned. Good luck!

when i took my first beta my progesterone levels were also at 14 they put me on endometrin 2x a day. I kept taking it and my levels jumped to 26 and then evened out to 20. i was fine until i started experiencing some of the severe side effects. i called my Dr. and he told me i could stop taking it for 2 days and to come in for more bloodwork to see where it was at. when the bloodwork came back, i was back down to 14 just in those 2 days of not taking it. Dr. said technically i didn't need to take it but since i was seeing a specialist, they liked to see the numbers higher and that i should go back on it for 1x a day. I did and now i am back to 20

sorry, i forgot to add that 14 doesn't seem low on its own, but if you are taking meds for it, it does. however, if your dr. isn't concerned about it, you shouldn't be. next time you go in for bloodwork, ask him if you should be taking a higher dose of PIO or more than one supp a day. Did you get back your reults for today yet?

My beta went up to 267 today and prog was 16. I questioned it and the dr put me up to 2ml PIO. Go back in 4 days for a repeat beta/prog.

He thinks everything is fine, so I am going with that:)
