High E2 levels during IVF
I'm on day 4 of stims and my e2 level came back quite elevated so they decreased my dose of meds and started me on lupron. I asked the nurse when she called if this was okay and she said it was & they're adjusting for it, but of course, I've googled this and I'm making myself crazy. So if anyone has any experience with what this resulted in or if once the meds were lowered was it ok? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Re: High E2 levels during IVF
how was your first sono? did you have a lot of follies? if so, then your e2 should be rising fast. it means you are at higher risk for OHSS. also most REs prefer e2 under 5000 at ER for proper implantation. supposedly over 5000 has lower implantation rates. however mine was somewhere between 5-6000 and i have a 13m now so if your doctor will let you go through with the ET (some push FET if e2 is too high) there is still a good chance of it working.
mine was not high initially so i didnt have to drop my meds until later. i was also on ganirelix the whole time to lower my PCOS-high LH. my e2 only skyrocketed one i had lots of maturing follies. lowering the dose of FSH should help the follies grow at a steadier pace.
take a deep breathe. it could mean something or it could just even out.

They didn't give me exact numbers but i think about 10+ follies came up on the sono- they said it was a good # but didn't elaborate further. I went again this morning and they said my e2 level went up but at a more appropriate rate so I guess I'll have to wait and see. Thanks so much for the response!!

Same thing happened to me- please don't be alarmed. By adjusting my meds on what seemed like a daily basis, it prevented a whole slew of problems.

Re: High E2 levels during IVF
Thank you so so much!! This is so similiar to my protocol & how they dropped my meds to one vial a night- and you're right the dr seems to be happy with how it's going. Thanks again It's so nice to see a success story
