November vacation without KIDS!!
so my wonderful DH is insisting we go away without the kids for my 40th!! While I'm very nervous about leaving them (and don't know with who yet lol) I think its good for us to get away for a long weekend. Figuring 4 days, 3 nights.
I don't want to fly far since we only have 4 days (including travel), but would love a warm beach. My birthday is in early November. Any suggestions for a caribbean vacation? I've been to the Bahamas and Aruba - not opposed to going back, but maybe thinking of trying something different.
My DH wants to try Atlantis in the Bahamas, but I heard its more of a family vacation vs. couple romantic place. Any feedback?

I would personally do a couples only resort if I were leaving my son. We LOVED Excellence in Playa Mujeres Mexico. They have a few locations. It was really awesome, tons of reviews on here saying the same. I am not a fan of Sandals.

How about Sandals in the Bahamas?
Atlantis has LOTS to do for adults, but I feel for what you're paying, you'll enjoy it more with the kids using the waterparks, etc.
Sandals would be much morelaid back, peaceful and no kids!

Negril Jamaica is beautiful, we were there at the end of November last year. Probably going back again this year!

We had a great time at The Jewel dunns river falls in Jamaica- adults only AI, easy flight, good food, nice beach, great service from the staff... Or, maybe yiu could do the Florida keys? Tropical feel without leaving the country!

I also suggest the Excellence in Mexico or DR, or an adults only resort in general. If you're not taking your kids you might as well ensure that you'll have a peaceful relaxing trip without other peoples kids splashing next to you. I would save a more family oriented location for when you do bring your kids so you dont end up feeling bad that you didn't bring them when you see other kids having fun.

We went to Barbados for our anniversary last year and loved it. Direct flights on JetBlue and we had great flight times. We were at our hotel around lunch time on Friday and still had the morning on the beach on Monday before having to leave.

This definitely! We just stayed at Excellence in Punta Cana and it was amazing. We've also stayed at Couples Swept Away in Jamaica. Honestly, I liked Jamaica better than DR, but I liked the Excellence resort better than Swept Away- if this makes any sense. lol! Though Excellence is planning to one day open a Jamaica location, but not yet.
