Help with Appetizers for a BBQ
I am throwing my brother a surprise 40th birthday party at my house. It's gonna be about 40 people including kids. We are going to BBQ and have some hot food, but I am so stuck on appetizers besides chips and dip & salsa?? I don't wanna go to crazy but I need help!! TIA

Re: Help with Appetizers for a BBQ
here are some of my go to appetizers:
Bruschetta on garlic bread - I usually get the fresh baked garlic bread and the bruschetta mix from costco - the bread also pairs really well with olive tapanade which I usually get at Trader Joes
Spinach bread bowl
Spinach empanadas (can be made ahead, frozen and just cooked that day)
Taco dip
veggie platter
another SUPER easy one that usually goes over really well with the men is this: Sliced kielbasa mixed with a little brown sugar and microwaved. It makes like a sugar glaze. Not sure if you want to add more meat to the menu though!
Sliced fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and sliced tomatoes served with balsamic dressing for drizzling.

Marinate jumbo shrimp in olive oil, a LOT of garlic, a little salt, a squeeze of lemon and a dash of red pepper flakes. Skewer them and grill them.. awesome.
We also do tomato basil and mozz skewers.
Frenched lamb chops marinated in the same thing as the shrimp.. except you add more lemon and also some rosemary and a bit of Greek seasoning before grilling.
BLT tomatoes are sooo good. Cut the tops off of cherry tomatoes and scoop out the inside. Fill them with a mixture of cooked bacon, mayo and chive. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
Grilled Pizza is a crowd pleaser - you can do a variety of toppings and cut into little bites.

I was just about to post this same question.
Easy apps.
I feel like since it's summer, dips, cheeses and stuff will not last long on tables.
What can you do thats easy & yummy for a large group, that will withstand the heat?
