What are the MUST visit restaurant when you are going to Disney with kids?
A year and a half away and I am starting to plan but I know I can't make any reservations yet.
So definetely Cinderella's Castle for dinner and Chef Mickeys for Breakfast but what else??
I've been to Disney but never with kids, I know this is a whole new experience and I can't wait

Re: What are the MUST visit restaurant when you are going to Disney with kids?
I don't have kids, but.
'Ohana dinner for sure. The food is incredible, if you time it right there's a fireworks view (or you can just watch Wishes from the beach at the poly), and there are lots of activities and games for the kids to participate in.
Did you say your LOs will be 3?
There's also Play and Dine and Hollywood and Vine. I haven't been but it has playhouse disney characters.
Have your kids been to other places with characters before (like Sesame Place, etc?) I'm always wary of booking too many character meals because some kids are too shy/scared around characters.
Unless you're really attached to Chef Mickey's, Tusker House has better food. You can also meet Mickey at Cape May Cafe, right at Beach Club.
T-Rex and Rainforest have "meh" food but kids love them. Heck, I like a good rainorest cafe thunderstorm once in awhile.
Some other ideas with interactivity/creative elements:
Prime Time 50's Cafe (full on 1950's role play) Sci Fi Dine In (meh food, cool ambiance) Whispering Canyon Cafe (fun, raucous, interactive)
By the time you go, Be Our Guest restaurant will be open, which would be a great option.
If you're just looking for a good sit down meal, The Plaza at MK is often overlooked. Beaches and Cream is just a great place to go, and it's right at Beach Club.
it's also nice to have a meal at AKL (I'd say Boma is the most kid friendly), because the resort is BEAUTIFUL and there are places you can go to see the animals on the savannah and speak with an animal trainer. Also, it sounds like your trip will be at Christmas time, and they have an incredible tree.

See I think the food at all the character buffets are eh but we did have 2 very good character interactions at Crystal Palace. The characters got on the floor and really interacted with the girls. On our 1st trip there Matt Laurer and his family were sitting only a few tables away.
I think Jennifer hit the good ones. I would just add that my girls also really enjoyed Biergarten and loved the music and got up to dance on the dancefloor with the other kids.
I would look at allearsnet.com menus and see what suits your family best. We like Akershus for a princess meal. We plan to try CRT next trip. We also like ohana, chef mickeys, sci fi drive in. The food isn't all top rated but the atmosphere makes them a hit. We have also had very good meals ay San Angel Inn despite some mixed reviews. That is why I recommend checking menus before to see if there are items your party will eat. Be our guest is supposed to open this holiday season (I see some say thanksgiving other early Dec or Christmas).
