My GF has HIGH FSH levels..what did you take
...if you had high FSH, what meds did they put you on? monitoring?
Did IUI's work?
IVF?
LMK Please, Id love to shed some light on this for my friend...shes 41 on her 3 clomid IUI and NOTHING :( bc her FSH is high...

I had a FSH of 26 with my IVF cycle, it was never high i the previous 7 cycles (natural & 1 IUI) ...
I was on a very high dose of stims 750iu of Follistim for 3 days, then i was lowered to 675 and added 1 vial of Menopur. I was also on Ganirelix this whole time also. I produced 6 follies, 4 eggs and 2 fertilized.

I used to take Wheat Grass to lower it. Mine was 14 one cycle. You can do the fresh shots, powder or pill form. They are all pretty yucky...but when I was cycling with OE's it never was high ever again.
However, more recently I read an article, and I don't know how much clout it had but it was interesting theory, that thought that WG and green powder supplements were causing immune issues. Maybe because it strengthens the immune system. Now I do have an immune issue, very high elevated NK cells, but more recently it hasn't been that bad (though it is still elevated but I guess closer to normal than it used to be) and I haven't used WG or any green supplement in about 3 years. It might not mean anything, just thought I would share that. I should save these articles, instead I keep reading them, get a headache and shut it down.

Thanks for the info! I will certainly pass it forward.
I, myself, never had to deal with this issue (just every other one out there :) so Im not on the "up and up" on what to do, what to take, what to ask for and next steps.
This helps...every little bit helps. I just thought at her age (41) they should have been much more aggressive with her cycle and knowing she had a high FSH (possiblity of ovarian failure) why they wouldnt just skip IUI and go right to an IVF cycle. That way they can see the quality of her eggs and assist in everyway possible.

I had an elevated FSH at 30. I did injectable IUI's and got pregnant on my 3rd cycle. The cycles I just used Femera, I stalled with one egg. I would be moving to injectables or IVF. I wanted to be aggressive.

I have FSH of 26... we are are skipping IUI's and moving right to Injectables and IVF. If I do not produce enough eggs on the meds to go through with a retrieval, then we will default to an IUI.
Clomid not generally an effective treatment when you have high FSH.

If this IUI fails then would you suggest she do an injectable cycle on Femera with the hopes of doing an IVF but if not many follies then revert to IUI...correct?

I am no expert... but our situations seem very similar and I am very comfortable with the protocol my RE has chosen for me... so yes I would say that would be a good idea

She will most likely not get PG with IUI. First step-find a new Dr that realizes that. 2nd step go to IVF. I had high fsh and got PG on my first IVF. 8 eggs, 5 fertilized, 2 implanted on day 3, Pregnant with healthy twin boys
