High FSH Levels?
My best friend was just told that she has very high FSH levels and that it will be very hard for her to get pregnant. She was pregnant once a few years ago for 6w and she miscarried.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice?

I as recently told this as well. I am now seeing an RE and waiting to re-test my FSH this week. I don't really have too much advice or info to share since I only found this out 4 weeks ago. The RE monitored my follicles and did additional blood work (everything else, including DH SA came back good). So now we are waiting to start my new cycle and re-test again. Since I am only 32 years old, its concerning that my level was so high.
How old is she? what was her FSH level?
Wish I had more to share, maybe next week I will.

Thank you very much. She is almost 31, and I think her levels were 40, but I am not sure. She was retesting today. Her first test was on Friday.

I had boderline high levels. Were her levels tested on Day 3? It is very important that they are done on day 3. I got pregnant with high doses of injectables. I was 30 when I found out. She should make sure she see's a FSH friendly RE. I stayed with Dr.Braverman.

Would you mind sharing more of your story with me? You can FM me if you prefer. Like how High your FSH was/is? Did you do injectibles with IUI or IVF? How many cycles? Sorry for all the questions, but I am just about to start my first cycle with meds and and IUI.... My day 3 FSH was 26. I am getting tested again Saturday probably.
Original poster... yes, make sure she is getting tested on day 3 of her cycle. Although I was tested originally on day 14, it was a 24 and then when they retested on day 3 I was a 26. I am seeing Dr Mullin at North Shore.... she is FSH friendly.

When she gets there read and research that site as well as click on the link for New Pregnant High FSH. I can't tell you how many women with high fsh have been given the same spiel or donor egg talk only to get pregnant. She needs to go to a high FSH friendly Dr. right away. She can ask on that board where she should go. My highest FSH was 18.2 and I got pregnant three times at teh age of 44. My pregnancies did not last because of teh age of my eggs. You need the right protocols. By far, age is the greatest predictor of success. How old is your friend? Your friend also needs to know her AMH level which will tell her what her ovarian reserve is which IMHO is a better indicator of ovarian reserve than FSH. Good luck.
