What tropical vacation would you take with kids...
We have a very active 1yo, and a 4yo. We were talking about where to go on vacation and would love to do something tropical, nice beach, "relaxing"  , not disney!
Any suggestions?

What about a cruise? Most cruiselines have a lot of daycare or daytime kid activities. It's almost like a summer camp where mom and dad get to relax, too. I know NCL even has ships that partner with Nickelodeon. Of course, there's always Disney cruises, too!

I second the cruise idea too. If you're on a budget you'll find a cruise is alot more affordable than flying to a tropical spot.

Though I know it has gotten very expensive, definitely Beaches Turks and Caicos. We went when my daughter was 15 months and absolutely loved it. It was completely all inclusive, very kid friendly and clean. I really don't have a bad thing to say about it. We had an amazing time. I'd love to go back, but again; I heard it has gotten VERY expensive.

We went to Beaches Turks and Caicos last December and it was great! The kids loved it there. (4 and 18 months at the time)

I would check out some cruises. Island beaches are easy with kids. Plus you would get some kids activities in their kids center.
If you don't want a cruise what about a place like Atlantis, or a beaches type of resort. At least those offer some family activities.

St. Thomas, you can take a boat day trip to St. John. It's pretty relaxed. Or Puerto Rico.
Aruba is nice but it's further away so a longer plane ride.

This is what I would do. This resort is INREDIBLE. I just came back from a Sandals/beaches training and I was so drooling over beaches T&C, plus when we were at Sandals we spoke with a lot of people there on anniversary trips,so they already had kids, and they could not say enough about the place and how we HAD to go there when we have kids
ETA: Beaches T&C is pretty expensive, but Beaches Boscobel is a lot more affordable.

I hear Aruba is the place to go if you have kids because it's such a safe place.
In my own travels we've seen lots of families in Punta Cana and the Bahamas.

Actually there was a great looking family resort right next to Excellence in Punta Cana. It's called Sirenis and actually had a full water park. It looked amazing. DH and I kinda wanna go back there! lol!
