most likely a stupid question....
Can we get pedicures? I will be 16w on saturday... I keep forgetting to ask my dr, my husband says NO....
But if it is a high-end salon -- and they know I am pregnant is it okay, or should I avoid them?
I don't want to do any harm or cause a miscarriage (been through that enough!)

I'm getting them done in about 15mins. My hubby told me this morning that my toe nails are out of control

hahahah okay that's what I thought -- but just wanted to check.
Husband gets mad at me when I sit with my hands on my stomach -- he doesn't want me to hurt the baby

Re: most likely a stupid question....
if the place is well ventilated then go for it! I found the massaging chairs to be scary once pregnant, so I just sit with the chair on off and i feel better about it now lol...

I go about once a month. No problems, no concern from doctors.

Re: most likely a stupid question....
The only big concern is with the ankle massage towards the end of your pregnancy because there are pressure points down there that are known to cause contractions and can cause you to go into labor. It's not much of a concern in the 2nd trimester, but in the 3rd trimester it's better to inform them (obviously you'd do that either way) and not get the foot massage part of the pedicure.

Re: most likely a stupid question....
Just be sure to pay attention to your body while you do it! I went at 38weeks and started to feel weird. Unfortunately I didn't stop it and I felt so awful I had to go straight to the dr. It turned out my BP was through the roof. I got another at 42 weeks (yes, 42 weeks!) and it was fine. I would probably avoid using a massage chair and if you start to feel weird, just get up and move around. Otherwise, enjoy!
