Panini Maker?

I want to get my boyfriend something fun for fathers day. He's mentioned a panini maker as something fun to have but I want it actually to get use. If you have one, do you love it and use it?

I have a panini press. It is calphalon, essentially a grill pan and then it comes with this heavy metal press that you press down on the sandwich with. I like it because I use it most of the time as a grill on the stove, but when I want paninis I can get the metal top and do that. It works really well. Here is what it looks like, I highly recommend it:

DH HAD to have one when we got married... Of course it was an expensive one from Williams Sonoma. Needless to say it's still in the box and we're married six years... Chat Icon I think it's a good gift if you think he will use it!

I have this Cuisinart Griddler which has removable Griddler and Grill plates so it functions not only as a panini maker but as a griddler too. I use it to make paninis, pancakes, eggs, grilled cheese, burgers, etc. Love it!

I second the grill pan over the panini press. I get way more use out of my grill pan even when I am not making paninis. I have the le creuset grill pan and I love it. One of my best purchases.

I have it too and i like the pan for regular grill pan use but not for panini. I dont think it grills the top as evenly as the bottom. I have an electric one as well and love it.

This we have it and use it all the time. We have had this for 6 years now and use it a lot.

It's great! We use it for everything. If we want to grill, or make pancakes it opens flat so you use top and bottom grill pans. It makes Chicken a cinch to grill during the week.

Thanks everyone! I got this one so it would have more than one use. I'm sure he will love it!
