IUI #1 Today and I have a Question...
Hello Ladies!
I had my first IUI this morning and after the procedure was done they told me to stay laying down for 5 minutes and then i could get up and changed. I stayed for 10 minutes instead and then got changed.
They also told me that some discharge is normal.
My question: was laying down for 10 minutes enough? Or should I have stayed down for longer? And it feels kinda damp down there, TMI, sorry is that really normal?
Just wanted to get some answers from women who had been there and done that already

Re: IUI #1 Today and I have a Question...
You laid there for a perfect amount of time so don't worry about that. The 'dampness' is because when they put the catheter in, it loosens up some cervical mucous and causes it to come down. Don't forget... you're ovulating... so you're going to be more 'damp' down there just because!
Good luck!

This. Likely it's the CM that got loosened. The sperm aren't coming out.
Good luck!

when we got the news yesterday from our RE that the Clomid worked this cycle and i had a follicle, DH & I were super excited!!! We're trying to stay positive that everything will work out, and if it doesn't, there is always next month... Honestly, little comments like yours always make me smile...while we may have never met, i feel like we all really support each other when we need to! Can't wait to start hearing good things from you soon!

Yes, I've been on Clomid since January and it hasn't done anything. Last month, while i was on the 100mg of Clomid, i just had a cyst. This month i had a good follicle! I generally don't lay down that long either when DH & I although DH always tells me to lay down or they will fall out. The RE did mention that DH had a good sample today with active swimmers. He mentioned he had 21 million sperm they were injecting into me today - anyone have any experience with numbers? Is that a good count?
I mean honestly...out of 21 million swimmers i really only need 1 good one to make it way to the follicle! how hard is that?

Re: IUI #1 Today and I have a Question...
My dr had me lay for 10 mins, and I'm pregnant now So I think 10 mins is definitely enough!
I honestly didn't have any leakage afterwards, although I did wear a panty liner incase.
ETA I did have some light spotting later on that night into the next morning. The office said it was normal, it went away fairly quickly

We planned our weddings together, and now planning for babies! Hold on to that positivity, and COME ON FEBRUARY BABY
As for DH and I, we've been just leaving it up to fate for now, and working with our RE again next month

Re: IUI #1 Today and I have a Question...
Sounds like a great amount of swimmers to me!!! DH had 25million post wash. I took 50mg of clomid cd5-9 and got two nice follices. the right was measuring 18 the left 20 and that was on cd 12. not sure how big they were on cd 15 when i had the iui. after i got my bfp the tech told me i ended up ovulating from the right which was the smaller of the two. go figure.
i really hope this is it for you

Not stupid at all but noooooo it's not possible!! They put it into your uterus. The sperm def does not leak out! It's all lots of cervical mucous.

Re: IUI #1 Today and I have a Question...
Don't worry about it... I only layed down for 10 minutes... I know some people say they took the day off to go home and relax, well not only did I not relax, I went to Boston that day and climbed over 6 rows of chairs at a celtics game to get one of the players towels for my little cousin and still got a BFP!
You'll be fine!
