Nervous. Excited. Anxious. Etc. We put an offer on a house

On Saturday. Found out at that time that another couple put an offer in (of the same price - only $5k under asking) about 12 hrs before us.

Their realtor told ours that she spoke with wife who said to be fair they are going to entertain the 1st offer, but wanted to speak with her husband 1st.

DH told our realtor, when he speaks with their realtor to up our offer to asking, as we don't want to lose this house over $5,000.

When our realtor called theirs, she said the wife had not spoken with the husband, but felt they were going to entertain the 1st offer.

It's nervewracking b/c we don't know what will happen. I just wish it was a yes or no. This is the FIRST time we have put an offer on a house.

the realtor should have asked both of you for your highest and best offer since you were at the same number

it never should have been disclosed to you that you were at the same number either

good luck- hopefully the first offer - falls thru!

To be honest, she did not say their offer, but she did say it was close to asking and our realtor asked if it was w/i $5000 and she said yes.

I keep saying, if it's meant to be, it will work out. Just being impatientChat Icon
