Dr.Kofinas girls
if you are a patient of his who is your reg ob and where are they located?
would you deliver out of winthrop?
the ob i wanted to use DR.Kofinas office does not work with
i really wanted to use Dr.Kofinas but know nothing about the ob's he works with
also any info on winthrop hospital? and if u were like me,someone who lives in queens would you think it is too far?
the ob i wanted to use is closer and i would have delivered out of lij

Crashing here...I agree with pennycat's first comment.
I can't recommend an Ob but I willl say Dr Kofinas is amazing! IMO if you are not really attached to your current OB it is worth switching to see him. He is amazing at what he does!

Dr Kofinas is amazing, but I didn't love Dr Pilliteri and wished he would consider using other OB's, but Dr Kofinas insisted he only deals with him. I delivered at Good Sam and Dr Pilliteri did his job, but he will never go beyond his duties. I currently use Dr Garrdio/Cafaro at University Plaza. Before I met Dr Kofinas I met a doctor at Madonna Perinatal and they were very nice too and deliver at Winthrop.

I see Dr. Kofinas and my OB is Dr. Pillitteri. I've been seeing him for a couple of years and have had great experiences with him in and out of the hospital.
So, I DISAGREE 100% with Jackie and the PP. He went above and beyond for me on numerous occasions. Before he was my OB, I had met him checking in on a good friend of mine while she was on bedrest. Very few doctors would do that.
At the same time, he delivers at Good Sam. So I think thats too far for you Gina!

I think he has changed a lot over the years and does not treat each patient equally. It seems like people who know him from a long time ago love him, but many of his newer patients feel very different.
He may do his job well medically on many occassions, but what he did to my uterus at my d&c last year is inexcusable.
However, I'm happy for you that he treats you so well. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to make that VIP list.

I don't think most doctors when they're not working, not on call, therefore during their free time, check in on their patients while on bed rest. So I'd say that NO it's not really standard. Or at least in my experience I haven't met any other Doctor besides Dr. B that does that.

Kofinas only works with one dr in Winthrop?? I'd ask for reviews in pregnancy. Maybe some other girls have seen the dr.
I see Pillitteri. He was my gyn before but just for about a year. I was very eh about him and his c section pushing ways but he kinda won me back a little when I went to the er and I called him. He had me come in the next day and set me up with kofinas. I still hate the waiting time though. If I wasn't having twins I might not be as likely to say but since a c section is likely I'm ok with staying. I have 3 friends who delivered with him and they love him. All high risk pregnancies for different reasons so all c sections.
He is probably too far for you though.

The group of 3 is University Plaza, right next door to Dr. Kofinas garden city building. It is Dr. Rosenberg, Dr. Cafaro and Dr. Miller. I love them all (and in that order!). Dr. R is my primarily dr. and dr. Cafaro delivered my twins and dr. miller I primarily saw in the hospital and he did DS circumcision and Dr. Kofinas saved my babies!!

I think my friend went to them. I'm thinking that if Kofinas works with them they are good.
ETA, they were just mentioned recently on parenting.

You can see my response above, but Dr. Rosenberg works with Cafaro and Miller. I just happen to like them better. You see all the drs there, so it really doesnt matter. I was a scheduled c-section and got to pick which dr. I wanted. Overall, the office is great and they work well with Kofinas.
