line or no line? WITH PIC - UPDATE

False alarm... just took a First Response test and it's a negative... clear as day... oh well :(

Hi all, Hope you don't mind that I'm in hiding, but I need some opinions and didn't feel comfortable posting on my real name just yet.

I tested early, just 9dpo (if the generic predictor estimated based on my cycle length is correct). There was no line in the circle when I first tested. but when I looked at the test about an hour later, i saw this really thin faint blue line.

Before I got too excited, I searched some posts on here and found a couple that said that the blue dye tests, especially CVS brand (which I used) can give this result and it's often a false positive. BUT i got the same thin blue line on two CVS tests... so what do you guys think?

any experience with thin blue positive lines on blue dye tests? Is it unlikely even though i got the same result on 2 tests?

looks grey in the pic, but it's definitely blue... just really thin.... any thoughts?

Re: line or no line?

how long did it take for the line to appear on the 2nd test you took?

I know tests say the results can not be read after a certain amount of time has passed because of an evap line or something.

best of luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I bet if you wait a couple of days that line will get darker.

I'm not sure that the test is accurate an hour later. Most are supposed to be read within 3-5 minutes. 9DPO is still early...I'd buy a pink line or digital test and retest tomorrow. Then you won't have to wonder.

Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I agree-how can 3 tests all give a false positive.

Hope it's a BFP for you!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: line or no line? WITH PIC

I don't trust the blue dye tests at ALL --- my advice is to go out and get a First Response Early Pregnancy test --- the pink dye is somuch more accurate

Good Luck!!!

I agree.

Although, if you got three separate BFP's it's unlikely they are ALL false positives.

Re: line or no line? WITH PIC

I would hate to get your hopes up – but I just had the same thing happen at approx 14dpo!! A super faint line but definitely blue, I thought I was going crazy – get a pink test, wait 24-hours and pee first thing in the morning. And you’re way earlier than 14 days, so maybe!!
