What is the course of action
What is the typical course of action when trying naturally doesn't work?

What are you considering "naturally"? Just  whenever and seeing if it happens....or using OPK's or temping, etc?

If you mean just BD throughout the month...I would probably move onto temping and/or OPK.

Thanks, I am really looking more for a global course of action though.
For example, after several months of trying w/o OPK and temping, someone might try that next. After that, what would a doc recommend? An SA? If that comes out okay, then what, and so on...
There may not be one right answer and it is really just a question of curiosity.
I am just trying to better understand what some of you guys have gone through on your TTC journey.

So far we did
SA
Hsg
D&c to have a fibroid removed
Now clomid treatment and my first iui will be done this month
I O on my own but have unexplained infertility. Been trying for 16 months and got tested after a year but started having blood tests and stuff done at the 10 month mark. I want to my obgyn for all of the above. Hope that answers your questions.

I think this is a really hard question to answer. Everyone's TTC journey is different depending on the age of the couple, how long they have been TTC, potential health problems with one or both of them, etc.

Generally
If you are younger try for a year. Older try for 6 mons before going to Dr for help.
Dr will first run test- SA, HSG some blood work
Based on those results discuss timed BD IUIs with or without meds.
Then IVF.

keep in mind it varies from person to persona nd reason or dx but for us over 2 and a half yrs it was
1.winging it
2.timed intercourse
3.timed intercourse with meds
4.iui with meds
5.iui with meds plus injectables(we did 8 iui in total)
and what finally got us..ivf with a crap load of meds
but we are 8 weeks pregnant with
best of luck to you

This has been our course so far:
Went off bcp in Sept
Started using opk in Nov
Cycles were very irregular and tracking O was difficult so I sch appt with my gyno in March. He sent me for full blood work, HSG, and DH for SA.
HSG and SA were good. Bloodwork was ok, I have low vit d levels. My Dr. insisted on prescription prenatals, vit d, and fish oil for me. Vit c for DH.
AF is due this week. If it shows, then I will start clomid and acupuncture, as recommended by my Dr..
If we don't have success after 3 months, then we'll discuss IUI and RE.
