PIO question

so this is about 6 weeks since i started PIO

it is not that bad..the injection at least but my butt is really sore and really bruised

i should preface and say i am a bruiser..i bruise really easily from llovenox and i take 200 mg a day so my whole stomach is purple and now my butt is too

but it is getting to the point i cannot sit and when i lay in bed it is sore

i think it is bc i am basically staying in the same area on both sides

my question is how far down the butt cheek to you go...

i stay pretty high..should i go lower? can u do the hips?

You really can't go down to far. I tried to attach an image...not sure if it will work. But it is best to stay in the upper outer quadrant of your butt.

Google "PIO injection site" and click on the images. There are a bunch of good drawings showing where the upper outer quadrant is. I believe you can also give the PIO in your upper thight. Ask your dr, though.

I gave them to myself in the upper third of my thigh. I couldn't figure how to turn and do it in my rear.

I iced first and used heat after. I never really bruised, maybe 1-2x, but sometimes I would get lumps. Mostly because of repeat injections in the same area.

Maybe you can alternate between both rear sides and both thight sides so each parts gets hit every 4 days?

Good luck! Out of all the ivf PIO I liked the least.

just dont go outside too far. I feel like Im sometimes still numb/painful cause i did it so long and had lumps that were so painful to inject went outside maybe too far and I still feel it sometimes @33 wks preg. I swear its from the shots.
