Maternity Dress for Shower
Question for you ladies... How far in advance did you/ do you plan to buy your dress for your shower?

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I bought an outfit too far ahead of time and it didn't fit me a week before the shower. So out I went to find something again with a week to go. Very stressful.

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I bought one at JCPenney a few weeks ago and my shower isn't until the beginning of May. It is stretchy so I hope it still fits. It was only $25 so if it doesn't I'll just return it. JC takes anything back now.

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I will probably look two weeks before the shower. I know if I buy something ahead of time/any time before that, I will def. not fit into it the same way. I'd rather hassle with shopping the one or two weekends beforehand and be confident in my decision.

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I bought one last time about 2 months in advance. It was big on me so I knew it'd be okay but even though I looked cute in it at 27 weeks, not so much at 35.

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I bought one about a month ago. I was actually shopping for another event when it caught my eye. It was huge on me so I figured it would be fine. I tried it again last week and it was still ok except that it only comes to my knees and I think I want to wear a long dress. So, I am on the hunt again.
ETA: My shower is at the end of June

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I'm going this weekend and my shower is in 2 weeks... so 1 week before I am looking.
I mostly did this because I'm a procrastinator, but now I'm glad that I did because I kinda blew up over the past few weeks, so if I got a dress any earlier I'd be in trouble.

Re: Maternity Dress for Shower
I bought mine about 2 months in advance with my first pregnancy. I ended up delivering BEFORE my shower and had to wear something completely different last minute for the shower because the original dress made me look like I was still very pregnant (I was 2 weeks post partum at my shower).
I actually wore THAT dress (the one I planned to wear to my original shower) to my sprinkle last month (two years later, for this pregnancy). lol. It was still new with tags and fit great.
It's an empire waist dress and the material is giving so it worked well.
