GRRRR i need couch help
so apparently our new couch will not fit in our house
at all, unless we rip out our door
so, our new couch is now on it's way back to the store
we basically have a 30" door opening to our insanely old house, so now we need to find a new couch
any ideas as to where i can find a gray fabric couch that is either assembled in the home or is less than 30" wide?
it's been a month without a couch..

Ikea has some assemble yourself couches.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99877812/#/S39894268 This one comes in dark grey or light grey.
This one is also in grey, and is assembled at home: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19875765/#/S99875851

What style are you going for? Do you have a pic of the couch you sent back?
I typically like Raymour & Flanigan, and recently saw some great pieces at Jennifer Convertibles.
Also if the couch has wooden feet they usually come off to fit thru doors.

Re: GRRRR i need couch help
ashley!!!!!! we needed a small couch to fit in our living room, so i was pretty picky about dimensions. ashley had the best selection of smaller couches. def check them out
and the couch is actually nice too

Re: GRRRR i need couch help
a friend of mine had this problem and did not want to pick different couches. There are people who actually take them apart, bring them in and put them back together. Apparrently, they put them back together better/ stronger than their original state. He was so happy he did it!

it was to the point that i jumped up and down when the guys got here today-that was very quickly replaced by curses under my breath as they carried my beautiful couch back to the truck

We just had this done last month. We ordered a 3 pc sectional for our basement and the largest pc would not fit down the stairs. It cost $200 for them to take it apart and then reassemble in the room, but it was worth every penny. Ashley furniture recommended the guy we used.

Re: GRRRR i need couch help
I am pretty sure if you order from Ashley you can pay $50 to ensure they will get it in your house. My brother did this about 2 years ago and they took it apart and got it in his basement.
Also not sure if this is what you are looking for but if you buy a couch that has a recliner in it...it is easily separated into smaller sections. This is what we did for our basement. Not sure if you were looking for a more formal look though
