Due in 3 days and still haven't dropped

My due date is Monday (based on when I ovulated and the sono's, if I went by my LMP I would have been due 2 days ago). The baby is still up high and I feel like nothing is making this kid move any lower. I've been walking and doing squats but nada. I had a growth sono this week and they didn't say anything about the baby's head being too big or anything like that. The baby is estimated to be close to 9lbs by my due date based on the sonos so my OB wants to discuss induction if I don't go into labor by Monday.

Two questions:

Is it normal to be this close to my DD and still not have dropped?

If I never drop, can I still have a successful induction?

TIA! Sorry this is so long, I'm just really frustrated and I'm scared an induction is going to lead to a c-section

I just had a dr appt the other day & my dr said to me that you don't have to drop at all to go into labor. I always thought you had to drop but she assured me thats not true. HTH.

Thanks I always hear people talking about the baby dropping and I feel like it's never going to happen. Hoping to go into labor soon!

DD didn't drop until I was in labor. I was only in labor for 6.5 hours and she was born -- vbirth, meds free.

I'm no doctor, but my experience is that the baby can still be way up high and come out just fine. Don't know about how that works with an induction.

My DD never dropped and was 10 days late. She came into the world via c-section. This time DS is due in 4 days and did not drop. He will also be a c-section.

I never dropped either. Was induced past my due date....was a breeze!!

I never dropped. I walked into the hospital for my induction with feet in my ribs. I was preparing myself for a section after 36+hrs of labor (just my vision). However, to my surprise I progressed so quickly and nicely that I pushed my DS out only 8hrs after pitocin was started!!!!!

I never really dropped until I went into labor. I wasn't induced. I was actually going to be induced, but the morning of, I woke up in labor.

and even without dropping really, I progressed quickly and had no complications or problems.

Thanks ladies! Due date is tomorrow so I'm hoping this little guy decides to make his grand entrance before an induction.
