Growth Sono Yesterday
36 weeks yesterday...
Well DS is apparently tall and already weighs more than DD did when she was born. Doctor said he's already 7lb3oz. At this point with DD I had to go to a specialist to see if there were problems with the umbilicle cord because she was measuring under 10%, well DS is up at 90%.
I will have another growth sono in 2 weeks. If this kid is getting too big he said we will start talking about an early induction. I am not a fan of early inductions, I just feel like they result in more c-sections. However, I also don't want an automatic c-section because this kid is too big.
And I am fully aware that sonograms are not exact in finding out the weight of babies. But he was really close with DD, so I trust him.

This is my first but my OB is talking induction as well due to the estimated size of the baby. It's frustrating because I always hear how the sono estimates are wrong but I've also heard people say they estimated the babies to be smaller than they ended up being. If you trust your OB, then I would go by what he says. That's what I plan on doing as well. I just feel like at the end of the day my doc will know better than I do.

It's not so much the doctor that you should trust on these measurements. The measurements are usually RIGHT on the money if baby is measuring about even in all the areas that they measure to calculate weight. But if perchance baby's head or belly are on the bigger or smaller size than the other measurements, it will skew the results, sometimes by a lot!
So I'd ask if baby's measuring about even in all areas. If so, then I'd trust the weight estimate.
Lots of luck! I'm 1 week behind you and at my growth sono this week baby was 5 lbs 13 oz (65th %). 90th is high, but lots of women push 9+ lbs babies out! Good luck!

Well with DD I had a 2nd degree tear, so he said he would worry about me if the baby was over 9 pounds.
But the first thing he measured was his head, that was measuring 38 weeks. He got a good measurement of his thigh too, also measuring 2 weeks ahead. His comment was, "Well he's got Daddy's legs!" DH is 6'3", I am only 5'4" 
I will trust him, there is no doubt about that. It doesn't mean I won't worry about it though!
Fingers crossed that he's long and thin! 
ETA: DD was 6lbs 6oz when she was born.

I'm right there with ya...36wk sono he measured 7lbs 10oz...dd was 8lbs 11oz when born and I torn 3rd degree on top of episiotomy so dr mentioned that at 38 weeks we may want to discuss dates for induction!
I don't really want one so I'm trying everything I can think of...I'm getting a pedi as I type
