Prenate + DHA

Is anyone taking these prenatal? The OBGYN prescribed it to me this morning, I am not preggers yet, but will be trying again this coming summer.

Any reactions to it at all? I don't eat fish, and I was just wondering if someone had sensitivity to fish would they have an allergic reaction from the DHA? I know this is two separate pills, are they big?

I don't take them, but maybe before you get the script filled you should bring up your concerns to the doctor.

Your Dr. may be able to give you samples to see how well you tolerate them for a few days. They also make vitamins/DHA that are all in one - just one pill - if you have difficulty. Also, some DHAs are derived from plant/algae sources and not fish, which may be a better option for you.

I take the generic of prenate dha and its one huge tablet. I've had no problem with it at all, but ITA with previous poster, you can ask for samples of a few different kinds to see if you have any issues.

I've been having issues with the fish oil in the DHA pills (I tried about 10 different sample types over the past 4 weeks that my OB gave me) and chose a vegetarian one. I took prenate essential (which they changed the name of since 2 years ago) with DD and I didn't have any problems at all with it.

Thanks guys!! I can not swallow big pills at all! I have to go back in six weeks for non-pregnant related stuff, so I think I will ask him, that is a great idea!!! I never even thought to ask for samples!
