Medicated FET vs. Unmedicated FET
Confirmed that I had a chemical so now its time to start thinking about a FET.
I need help in deciding which one to do. The Dr said the success rates are the same with both.
Anyone have any experience and can guide me through this? I would appreciate it.

Re: Medicated FET vs. Unmedicated FET
I tried to do an unmedicated FET once. But, we cancelled after 50 something days bc I didn't ovulate on my own and my cycles were very unpredictable. From then on I did two medicated FETs. For me, it was easier having my Dr control everything, knowing what was going on. However if you have normal cycles with no other issues, it might be worth a shot to be drug free!!

Do you predictably ovulate? If so, I'd go with unmedicated. If not, medicated is probably the easier and less stressful option. Good luck.

I have a very regular cycle but I'm just afraid with all the IVF meds I've been on my ovulation might be thrown out of wack and the cycle is a bust. In a natural cycle do they track your ovulation or are u supposed use an opk?

I read somewhere that implantation has more success in a uterine environment with fewer drugs, but I'm not sure that applies to the estrogen they use to suppress during FET.

Re: Medicated FET vs. Unmedicated FET
Will you be taking a month off before the FET? Some women don't ovulate after a failed IVF but if you were regular before, you should go back to being regular on your 2nd period after IVF.
I had a failed IVF in February. I'm pretty sure I ovulated again right away, but my dr had me take a month off anyway. I liked letting my body feel "normal" again before trying anything again.

My Dr said I could start right away & so I plan to. I have always had regular cycles & I'm hoping the chemical didn't throw that off.

Re: Medicated FET vs. Unmedicated FET
I had the same thing occur- the chemical about 4 months ago. My period did come normally, but I did chose a medicated FET. It is way easier then a fresh and I like that I have a plan. If I went unmedicated it would probably the time my body chose to be different. But-----its a personal choice. I don't know if there is a difference in BFPs in percentages of medicated/unmedicated.
FM if you need anything!

I have a regular cycle and did an unmedicated, I found it to be less stressful & less monitoring. Transferred only a single 5 day blast & it split, currently 10 weeks with twins.

Re: Medicated FET vs. Unmedicated FET
I've done 2 medicated FET's and 2 unmiedcated FET's. Hands down the unmedicated FET's are the way to go if your cycle is regular. SO much easier, plus I hate the way I feel on estrogen which is what you use in the medicated cycles. As for success, well DD was from an unmedicated cycle (well not totally unmedicated, I ended up triggering because the lab was going to be closed for Christmas and we needed up hurry things up! Also ended up on PIO after the first beta). My first medicated was BFN, second medicated was chemical and first unmedicated was chemical. If you have any specific questions let me know

Thank u ladies so much I appreciate & respect ur input so much!
My biggest fear is that the rest of my frozen embies are going to be part of the " bad batch" that I had my chemical with.

I had this same fear, after 3 failed cycles (which included 2 chemicals) I was convinced they were all ruined by freezing. But I was wrong! FET's do work, it's just a matter of finding that "golden" embie. I think 25% of all natural pregnancies are chemicals so it's just a matter of getting the perfect chromosomal makeup. I was very close to going for another fresh cycle, but so happy I didn't!

I did an unmedicated FET and will be delivering in about 2 weeks! I was on progesterone after transfer but that was it! Way less stressful than an IVF cycle.
