please help!!! re: carpet cleaning!

Ok, so let me preface by saying, I am NOT dirty. Nor is my home.

Ok, so now to the reason for my post. My carpets smell like urine. My son is newly potty trained and has had many accidents. My dog has also had a few accidents. I clean my carpet once every 2 months with my MIL's carpet cleaner. The thing is, the pee smell will NOT go away! Is there anything I can use to get deep down!??!?

I live in an apt. so new carpets is not an option, I wish it was!

Thanks!

Re: please help!!! re: carpet cleaning!

Nature's miracle works but it is labor intensive.

Spray, blot, spray, blot, spray, blot. It's something like that - instructions are on the back of the bottle.

OR - hire professionals when your son is done potty training?

Re: please help!!! re: carpet cleaning!

Part of the problem is that the urine may have soaked through to the subfloor and/or carpet pad and is soaked in and the celaning you are doing will not get it out of the subfloor.

I woudl try a professional cleaning as they can get a deeper clean than a home steamer does.
