House Hunters- HGTV
I am so obsessed with this show! Maybe bc our life is consumed with selling and buying right now!
Anyone else? I dont watch the International one but the regular House Hunters I love.
Some of those houses out of NY are just beautiful for the PRICE!!!

I've always watched them and got chosen to apply to the show but decided against it because the deal we were going through with house #1 was crazy and I didn't need something else to worry about.
Anyway, I love watching HGTV but it's also very frustrating at the same time, at least on the buyers side. You can see how much you're $ will buy you out of state and it's annoying.

DH and I have watched that show, but we always get so annoyed by the end of the show because the houses are always gorgeous and SO much cheaper than Long Island prices, yet the people on the show somehow always manage to find silly things to complain about like paint color, or there being no fridge.  If we could find a house twice the size of our current house for half the price of what we paid for our house, we would NOT make a big deal of something silly that can easily be fixed!

Yes! And I feel like it's clouding my brain b/c i see all these great houses on there and everything I see in my area online I hate!
I feel like the producers tell them to nitpick every little thing so they have some material to edit. Some stuff seems silly like complaining about a chandelier but i'm sure they have to comment on everything.

I have loved this show for years. I have probably seen them all. I am not a fan of HHInternational though for some reason. I guess b/c I have no interest in foreign travel and real estate.
My biggest obession was the episode (or is there more than one) where they were on LI! I loved it and wish they did more LI based shows!

DH and watch every night. I never saw the LI one!! The closet I ever see is NYC.

Yes, the were out by East Marion and Mattituck. The couple bought a nice house next to a vineyard.

A friend of a friend works for HGTV. She was one of the designers on one of the shows! When we bought our house in 2008, she offered to have us on the show, but DH wasn't into it.
However, she did always say that the producers make the people on House Hunters and similar shows comment about irrelevant, minor issues like the paint color. But as an agent, that always makes me want to SCREAM!

We figured that bc they ALL comment on the same things....light fixtures and paint color and I am always like ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! You can switch them!!!
