Talk to me about towels, please

I'm in desperate need of new ones.
How many do you have? How many times will you use one before washing? I ask b/c it feels like I'm ALWAYS washing towels.

I love my towels from Target. I use them twice and then they go into the wash. We have 12 towels for us and 4 for the kids. Things to make sure to do:
don't put them into the laundry wet
do hang up the towel after using it once
don't over stuff the washing machine
half way through the dry cycle, open the door and move them about to get any scrunched up spots, then let them finish the cycle. They will dry faster but don't let them get over dry.

My favorite towels are Lacoste. Got them at Macys. I think we have 6 towels for DH and I. We use them twice before washing.

I have the JCP collection towels and LOVE them! We have 6 of them for DH and I. We wash them roughly every 2-4 days. We just throw them over the shower rod to let them dry. In the summer we wash them more like every 2 days since I am obsessed with hanging my clothes on the line. The kids each have their own hooded towel that I wash on non bath days or every week.
