Laundry Detergent
Is it absolutely necessary to use Dreft? We currently use All Free & Clear (dye & fragrange free) so am wondering if thats OK to use for baby also? Thoughts/Opinions please?

Re: Laundry Detergent
We use All Free & Clear --- I stocked up on about 5 bottles of it a few weeks ago and it is all we've been using, and I have washed all of the baby's clothes with it.
Honestly even if you use dreft for the baby clothes they still touch your things. They rest their heads on your shoulders, etc. So for me it just makes sense to use Free & Clear on EVERYONE's clothes...and it's very safe for the baby!

Re: Laundry Detergent
May I ask why we need to use dreft or free and clear? I registered for dreft but I was just wondering why... we use regular detergent for our own clothes...

Re: Laundry Detergent
Dreft isn't fragrance free. DS has really bad eczema so we weren't able to use it and it's really expensive. I thought that since it's marketed towards babies that it would be more sensitive but it isn't so to me that's a huge waste of money. Even if DS didn't have eczema I don't like the idea of so much fragrance on him. I heard it smells amazing though lol.
We use free and clear to keep eczema at bay. I get whatever free and clear is on sale.

Re: Laundry Detergent
Babies have such sensitive skin.....you don't want them to have perfumes and dyes near them. ALL of our clothes, linens, etc are washed in free and clear.

Re: Laundry Detergent
We used Dreft on my DD's things and by the time she was 2-3 weeks old she had horrible baby acne and also excema starting...
The doc recommended that we stopped using the Dreft for her and just used Free & Clear for EVERYONE...
We also had to use certain soaps (J&J was too harsh on her skin) and couldn't use wipes -- we had to just use washclothes!
Detergents have perfumes and dyes in them....Free & Clear detergents do not..which is why they are often recommended for use with babies.
