No Lights next to or over medicine cabinet/mirror?
i can't believe the amount of disagreements between dh & i when it comes to details of the home.
he insists that he has seen bathrooms without lights over the medicine cabinet/ mirror, so why do we need one.
has anyone ever seen this?

Just because it *can* be done, doesn't mean you should...  
One of my bathrooms only has a single ceiling light, roughly centered in the room. Gives lots of wonderful shadows on your face, making it a pain using the mirror in that bathroom. Luckily, it's *my* bathroom, so I don't need too much light and detail in the mirror, but for most people, it would be a pain using that bathroom.

Please gets lights over your medicine cabinet.
My new house master bath doesn't have lights over the medicine and it is HORRIBLE!!!
On the car ride to work I have to fix my make up bc it isn't even, at all. The worst part is the previous owners gutted it and made it beautiful, but didn't leave any extra tile, so we cannot add in lights and the worst part is the "medicine cabinet" is really a hanging mirror. So we have to buy one and it won't be in the wall.
My opinion is you NEED lights right above the mirror.

I don't have any lights over our mirror, our bathroom light is already bright.

My bathroom is smallish, and the only light fixture is the one over the medicine cabinet.
Even if I had a light fixture in the center of the room, I would think it would cast shadows when looking in the mirror.

One of our bathrooms doesn't have lights over the medicine cabinet so I always have to do my makeup in the other bathroom. If you have the choice, I would get the lights
