Is there anything we can take for congestion?

I had a super nasty cold 2 weeks ago and I still have some mucus, and a nasal drip, and its driving me crazy. I have a phone call into my nurse, but the nurse sometimes takes forever to get back to me. I looked on my list of OK meds but didn’t see anything on there.

My doc OK'd plain Claritan for my nasal congestion. Also Benadryl for night time.

Feel better!

My list says you can take saline nasal spray, chlor-trimeton, Nasalcrom, or Benadryl

My Doc said Sudafed was perfectly safe. I was so sick last week and after taking Sudafed 2 times i was feeling good again.

Feel better soon.

See my doctor said that you can take sudafed and claritin occasionally, but not on a regular basis.

When I was super sick he told me that unless it gets unbearable, to just stick with saline mist and to do it as many as 6 times a day.

I had the same thing. I was congested and stuffy. I went to the doctor and he told me my lungs were clear and there was no infection so baby was fine. He did say Sudafed was fine. I didn't want to start with the meds so I stuck through it and used the saline nose spary (which really only works for about 5 minutes before you have to spray again!)
