What the hell
I finally broke down and bought the digital CBE OPK...WTH!!
I followed the directions, stuck the dip stick in the cup and...nothing. The stupid icon just kept blinking then no circle or smiley...so I unlinked them waited for it to clear out and stuck it back in...that caused an error message.

Did u put the stick in, and hear it click, before peeing on it? Did u have the ready symbol?

Yes, I opened the box and stuck the stick in and it started flashing to test. So I dipped it. Then it just flashed and flashed and flashed and then nothing...

It can take anywhere from 3-5 minutes. Are you sure you waited long enough?

Yes I read the directions and after it flashed to test I dipped it and waited and it just went blank...maybe it's defective?

Hmmm... are u sure you dipped it for long enough? I'd try it again with a new stick. Fluke hopefully.

The same thing happened to me the first time I bought one. I called the customer service # on the directions and they said it was defective and sent me a new one.

Thanks ladies! 
I got it to work yesterday, not a smiley but at least I got a reading! I plan on taking the advice of (I forget who at this point) but to use the cheapies and just confirm with the smiley.
