lighting in kitchen
my kitchen opens directly up to my dining room, with a peninsula separating them.
i have a fancy chandelier in my dining room, then im having rustic/plain pendants over the peninsula...should i do a smaller, companion chandelier in my kitchen?
these will all be within 12 -14 feet from dining room to kitchen with a small drop ceiling in between (where the pendants hang). the kitchen will have high hats as well.
thoughts?
i also considered a fan in the kitchen but not sure ill love it.
my style is mix of traditional sparkle and contemporary.
ETA: i should add that the kitchen liht will be in the middle of the room, not hanging over somehting...does that change it? mabe the style should be more of a ceiling hugger?

Re: lighting in kitchen
Yes! Do the smaller chandelier in the kitchen. I have, what sounds to be, a similar setup. I have a chandelier in the dining room which opens to the kitchen. In the kitchen I have a pendant over the peninsula as well as six 4" recessed lights. I put a 3-light fixture over my island, which compliments the pendant and chandelier. AND with ALL of that I still feel at times like I need more light! I think the more light, the better when it comes to the kitchen.

Re: lighting in kitchen
ok ive figured it out based on your suggestions.
ill do a mini chandelier over my sink..which is centered on the room with a window behind it, so no cabinetry there.
yay!

Is the sink in an island or at a wall? If the latter, you could do a puck light over the sink and chandelier centeredin the room. DH loves the puck light.

Re: lighting in kitchen
its actually not in an island. i just thought a chandelier hanging in the middle over nothing would lok odd.
ill have to hold it up in each place and figure it out lol
