Please post pictures of your kitchen lighting
It has been a year and a half and I still have a bare bulb in the kitchen  . We have a ceiling fan in the eik.
Here are old pics of the kitchen before the backsplash and other finishing touches. The hardware is brushed nickel and we have stainless appliances so I suppose it will need to 'match' that.

i have recessed lighting but i think a tiffany style, semi-flush mount would look really nice in your kitchen.
