Purchasing clothes for new baby (not having a shower)?

So with DS no. 1, I had a shower and we knew it was a boy, so i go lots of clothes...
Now that i'm having a girl, i realize i do not own any girl baby clothes (oh, with the exception of a onsie i picked up the other day). It's a strange feeling. How much is everyone buying?
I'm sure i'll get gifts after the baby is born, but i'd like to have stuff before her arrival. From what i remember with DS no. 1 is that i had him in onsies most of the summer...I'm due in May again with this little one.
Any ideas on how much to buy?

We are team green so we will not know what we are having until the baby is born. We do have *some* neutral stuff leftover from DD but to be honest when we pulled a lot out from storage it was all stained up -- she was formula fed and the stains weren't there when we packed it all up but they showed up years later (she is 6.5 years old now).

I bought some white socks, a few outfits and got 2 duck outfits at my shower that are neutral. I have a few onesies and sidesnap t-shirts, but the baby's wardrobe will be very bare bones for the first week or two.

Probably after the first few weeks I will go to target, kohl's, carters which are all local and buy more clothes depending on what the baby is. If it's another girl then we have plenty leftover from our DD1.

Since we're teamChat Icon and I am due in August, I am only stocking up on neutral onesies and one-pieces. Once we know if its a girl or a boy then I'm sure we'll get tons of gifts from family and friends (not having a shower). If its a boy, I'm set from DS#1 and if its a girl then I can do some damage onlineChat Icon I'll have some things picked out and then just order them.
