Hello from bedrest!
Hey girls! I feel like I haven't been on in forever! It's def been a crazy few weeks here. First off, the peanut is still cooking and is doing great. However, I'm on bed rest until further notice. I started having pre term contractions (not pre term labor - I found out that there is a difference - if you're not dialated, then it's only preterm contractions). I didn't even know I was having them and it was just a gut instinct I had to call my OB. Thank god I did b/c the contractions were pretty consistent. So now after a few stops into Mercy L&D - all in between a beautiful baby shower - I'm now on bed rest. I'm allowed to get up to go to the bathroom, make a very quick meal for myself and take a super quick shower. Other then that I'm either in bed or on the couch. I have to see my OB every week for a check up and also get a progesterone shot once a week as well (apparently this shot helps to stop contractions). I'm on some oral meds every 6 hours as well to stop them. I've already had my 2 dosages of steroids for the baby's lungs in case he does come early. We're hoping to get to 36 weeks (I'll be 33 on Monday), but we're just taking it day by day. I asked the OB why this happened and he said that there seems to be no reason for it. He said all my tests came back fine so I fall into the 75% of cases of pre term contractions that have no reason for it. The only good thing is that at my last perinatal appt at 31.5 weeks, the baby was measuring 4lbs, 5oz already so he's on the bigger side. My ob feels that if he did come early, we'd be in good shape and I shouldn't worry about that. So that's that. Thankfully, I have a job that I can work from home so I've been keeping busy. Hope everyone else is feeling good!

Re: Hello from bedrest!
sounds like you are hanging in there!!!
the size of your baby at this point is very good. i had my DD at 33w1d and she was 3lbs 8oz. spent 3.5w in the NICU with no complications. if you can cook him to 5lbs, along with the steroids, he may not even need NICU time. tons of luck to you!!!
