South Hempstead RVC SD

We would love to live in RVC, but it's a bit over our budget. I was looking at houses in S. Hempstead with RVC SD. Thoughts?

I think you can't beat the value. The neighborhood is quaint. The houses aren't as large as in RVC but you are seeing more and more of the little capes blowing up into really nice colonials. The grammar school is Covert and it is an amazing school. Our nanny is in the process of buying a house there now. Your link didn't work. I am going to try and look up the listing on MLS

We have the same problem i would really love to live in RVC but cant afford it. I know that south hempstead is in RVC schools but definilty drive around the area bc it is also surrounded by north baldwin hempstead , and uniondale.

DH and I are also keeping this as an option since we too want to live in RVC with #21 SD but can't afford RVC.

I think that depending on the block it could be a great value. The only thing is that on certain blocks you can totally tell that you're not in RVC anymore. The homes are smaller (although pretty well kept), there are less mature trees which visually make a difference, and the streets aren't as wide (something stupid but it is a difference).

I know there are several houses in the S. Hempstead sd #21 area that are being knocked down and new colonails are going up. One is on May St. and I passed by yesterday to see the area and eh... it's across from a Fire House. Just keep an eye out because if you look at past houses sold in that area some are quite nice.

I'm here and am very happy. The house you are looking at seems very nice, something I personally don't like about it is that it is on a corner and there doesn't seem to be much of a backyard. I am also not exactly sure where it changes to Uniondale schools , I know that house is in rvc schools but I think it might be one of the last. You are also diagnal from the firehouse. I know some people on that block and they happy.
