Granite places?
Hi everyone!
My DH and I are redoing our kitchen, which will hopefully be done in time for our 1st born to join us in June!
We are going to start picking out cabinets and granite for the kitchen counter soon and I have found a few recommendations for cabinet places, but can anyone recommend a good place for granite that is reasonably priced?!!!
TIA!

Re: Granite places?
Fortune Stone in Franklin Square - We priced out a couple of places and they were the lowest.

Re: Granite places?
We used Elegante Granite in Westbury. This was for our bathroom, but we are planning to put granite in the kitchen and will use them again.

Re: Granite places?
If you want to gather ideas in actual kitchen settings, stop by our showroom and then go next door to Fiorano tile Gallery (in Williston Pk) as well. You'll see granite samples in every color as well as solid surface slabs, cabinets, doorstyles. You can hold the granite up to the cabinet color you like and get a wealth of info by picking our designers' brains (absolutely no obligation at all). We welcome people to come in and get educated and use us as a resource. Happy to help in any way. Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly 26 Hillside Ave. Williston Park
Here are a few articles that may help you during these planning stages.

I'll second Elegante Granite in Westbury. We used them for our bathrooms (undermount tub), saddles, and vanity top as well as for our kitchen.
They were good to work with, did a great job, and were reasonably priced.
We worked with Netti there she's very nice and knows what she's talking about.
The key with any of it, is what stone do you want? that will drive the cost more than anything. You should go and talk with a place iwth your layout, and then they will send you to a few granite yards to look. some stones are cheap, some are not. if you pick a cheaper stone, the costs can be pretty decent.
We have a pretty large kitchen and ended up with about 75sqft or counter... the price per sqft ended up in line with the lowest advertised prices, that was with undermounting the sink(sink not included) and with a Ogee edge.
remember, it isn't price per sqft, you want to price the job. those price per sqft places start tacking on extra charges for this edge or that edge, faucet holes and undermount sinks. Granted all fo that is additonal work, but they exclude it from their price per sqft to advertise the lowest rate possiblee......
