Driving vacation ideas with toddler

Besides the usual...hershey and Dutch WOnderland, can anyone recommend some great vacation ideas for this summer that are driving distance. WE might wind up doing hersehy or dutch, but was also looking for some different ideas. DD will be 3.

We are looking for something resort-like.

TIA

Re: Driving vacation ideas with toddler

I have heard great things about Woodloch Pines Family Resort in the Poconos. We are looking into that as a possibility. We did Sesame and Dutch last year.

My girlfriend loves Rockinghorse Ranch as well. A colleague went to Great Wolf Lodge but advised me to wait until my kids are a little older (I have three year old twins and a newly turned six year old). He said 5 and up is a great age, but I'm sure we'd have a blast no matter what.

I will say that Dutch was freaking awesome. We hated Sesame and absolutely loved Dutch when our kids were 3. It is geared toward ages 2-12 and they have the water park too. Definitely try there. We haven't done Hershey yet. I do want to try Six Flags. They have a huge kiddie area and the safari.

We have done Dutch for the past 2 yrs with DD. First time she turned 1 and second time she was 2.

Was trying to think of something different this year.

And yes! we love it there.

Lake George is pretty nice, my BIL goes every summer. Must be worth it if he goes that often...

Of course, there's also some parts of the Poconos, Mohonk or Newport.

Try the white mountain region of NH. There is a ton to do there. We took the ferry out of orient to break up the trip. We went when ds1 was 7m but went with a family w 3 other kids (2, 3, 6 at the time) and there was plenty for everyone. Check out story and if you are set on the amusement park.
