spotting.. *UPDATE*
I have a 23day cycle..AF is due in a week..today is the first time I've ever spotted in my life. It's brownish...
Thoughts??
UPDATE: ughhh, idk whats going on..this morning I woke, and I don't think i'm spotting. It's heavier, but I don't think it's heavy enough for a tampon..sorry for TMI..but there isn't much on the pad, but a decent amount when I wipe, and it's soo dark.

brownish spotting before AF is due could be implantation bleeding!!

do you know when you O'd? Implantation usually occurs between 6 and 12 days after ovulation. Could be implantation bleeding!

interesting - i am in the same boat (think I O'd around 1/27) but I would think that this would be a late implanter if you O'd 10ish days ago?

How are you determining when you O? By charting? I think I read implantation can occur between 6-12 days after fertilization. If you O'd on the 28th it can occur between 2/3-2/9. I think it's possible you could be experiencing implantation bleeding! Good Luck!!

Well, this last cycle I just went by my CM & a calendar online that predicted when I should have O'd! Lol, this is why I'm clueless..I need to get more on top of things!

Re: spotting.. *UPDATE*
your AF isn't due technically for another week though right?
And since you have a 23 day cycle you just had AF like 2 weeks ago right? It would be odd that you'd get another pd so soon.
is this your first cycle off Birth Control?

I assume you never had this sort of bleeding before AF In the past year right?
I think it could still possibly be implantation bleeding. I once ready a thread on the pregnancy board about IB. Some ladies said they had it heavy where they thought it was their period. Are you noticing any clots? I think as long as there are no clots it could still be Implantation Bleeding and not an early AF.

Re: spotting.. *UPDATE*

Re: spotting.. *UPDATE*
I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion but a 23day cycle is way to short and not ideal for pregnancy to occur..
You said that you are spotting brown, brown color means old blood as well as low progesterone which points to short luteal phase..you are spotting a week before your AF is due which is not good...
If your LP is less then 10 days (means you would need to O no later than cycle day 12-13 which is even early in a perfect 28 day cycle)...the fertilized embryo will be rejected by your body.....
This website is great....since you are TTC I would def see a doctor and have my hormones checked...a 23day cycle is not normal....
GL to you!
Short Luteal Phase

Re: spotting.. *UPDATE*
I had this last month. Spotted 3weeks after my regular period (week before next due date). 2 days brownish 2days Very light bleed not enough to fill a pad. I ended up getting a regular flow 28 days later. I believe it was hormonal or I didnt ovulate. I have NEVER had that happen & I was TTC do I thought it was pregnancy related. 4 neg HPT's .
