Growing new grass help
I took down tons of trees & bushes & now have a largely mud yard. Front yard is semi-muddy, but still, a good amt of old grass. How & when should I put down grass seed so it grows well? Should I aerate 1st? Put down a fresh layer of soil?
Please help me un-mud my house!

I would airate but wait till the spring. You have to be sure there will be no more frost.
Once you put the seeddown I would put hay or they something else to put over it (forget what it is called) to keep the birds from eating all the seed. Then water the heck out of it!!!!
Good Luck!

Re: Growing new grass help
If we get a late snowfall, put seed down then. When the snow melts it will "pull" it underground.
It's not always easy to predict, but a good heavy rain in the spring works too.
