INduced? ANyone?
This is my third and for some reason this baby doesnt want to come out? I am getting induced tomorrow, but I am only 1 1/2-2 cm and 5 days late. I am so nervous because I heard the contractions are more severe and usually end up in c-sections (which i never had either). I thought the 3rd one is supposed to fall out????
ANy tips or ecperience with this would be appreciated. TIA

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 41w and I had a vaginal birth. It was my first so I don't know if the contractions were worse but I got the epidural right away and I was in heaven! It wasn't that bad! I pushed for like 45 minutes.
Good luck!!

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 40w 4d with my first.
They gave me the epi early so they could increase the pitocin so I didn't really feel much until the last hour or so - at that point, DS' head was so low, they couldn't do much for me to relieve the pain or I wouldn't be able to push.
I ended up with the v-birth. The anesthesiologist did mention though that they were mentioning I may need a c-section because the progress was taking longer than they liked (they started the induction around 8am and I wasn't fully dilated until 8:50pm - DS luckily was born 20 minutes later.

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 41 weeks and had a vaginal also. I had a great induction- only 3 hours of labor and 20 min.s of pushing!! I was only 1 cm going in. I bet being its your third the baby just needs a little push. I'm sure it will go well.
Good luck and congrats!!!

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 39w6d and ended up with a C/S. However:
1. I was induced due to GD, and I really don't think she was ready to come out.
2. I dialated to 10cm with no problem (it took awhile but it happened), but she was face up and just didn't want to descend despite 3 hours total of pushing.
3. She was my first baby.
IMO, if the baby had been ready to come out - in other words if I was late - I think she would have come out vaginally.
Being it's your third and you're past due, I think you will be just fine Good luck!!

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 40 weeks because of high blood pressure and had a very positive experience. I was in labor for 8 hours and pushed the baby out after 3 pushes (no exaggeration). I delivered vaginally.
They say if you have progress before the induction it's more likely to be successful. I was 2 cm before I was induced.

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 39weeks due to preeclampsia. I was in labor for 12 hours and had a vaginal delivery. I didnt think the contractions were that bad and I didng et the EPI until 8cm dialated and it wore off for me.

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced with both my kids. Ds was Cervidel followed by Pitocin. Dd was just Pitocin. Both times I progressed well. Ds was 9 hours start of Pitocin to birth and dd was 5 hours. Both kids were born in my 38th week due to health issues. It was not a walk in the park and I did have non stop strong contractions no rest in between but an epi solved that problem. Good luck

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced at 40w 1d. I was "a tight 2 cm" dilated at that time but I was having strong contractions although I couldn't feel them. Because I was a little dilated I only needed pitocin. My induction went really smoothly and I didn't feel any bad pain until I was at 7 cm which is when I got the epidural. I was fully dilated and ready to push 8 hours after starting the pitocin and our DDs head was appearing but she was stuck. My induction ended in a c-section because her heartrate was erratic and she was not going past my pelvis. We knew she was a good size and my OB had warned me that I could need a c-section even before we started the induction.
As this is your 3rd I would be optimistic that you would have a successful induction. Good luck.

Re: INduced? ANyone?
DD # 1 I was induced starting with Cervidel followed by Pitocin. The cervidel was the night before, I was only 1 1/2 cm dilated for weeks. I remember once the dr incerted it I couldn't go to the potty for 2 hrs
The next morning I was started off with pitocin which made my contractions alittle intense. I had to wait until I was 5 cm To get an epi I was in labor for 7 hrs pushed for hour in a half. Almost had a c-section because of DD heart rate was dropping due to the contractions being alittle intense for her.

Re: INduced? ANyone?
I was induced after my water broke. I had a vaginal delivery without pain meds. I have heard that pitocin contractions are very painful but this was my first so have nothing to compare it to. When I got to the point that I couldn't take the pain I was at 10cm and able to push.
