PIO question..or questions lol

ok so what is the likely hood of being put on it after ivf..i usually take endometrin

so if it is a yes that we have to use my first question is can u really do it urself?

dh and i were talking tonight..i was showing him pics of the needles and he got white in the face...

i know some of u know how he fainted at a sword swallower

he cannot do it..just cant..i do not mind doing it myself..i do my other ones but i also do not want to mess it up

2nd question is..when do u do it..is it a certain time..could i have my sister do it for me but it would be around dinner time..i feel like i read on here ore girls do it at night

I think other people do it because its in the but and probably really awkward to do yourself...

I WOULD... trust me. When I first got diagnosed and the nurse showed up with a long azz needle the size of your pinky nobody lined up to do it in my butt

My husband did it for 2 days, then my bff did it 1 day and after them 2 I decided to do it myself lol. I had to heat up the prog in the needle with a heating pad because when i didnt i got muscle spasms in my leg that hurt like hell.

You can do it yourself but I woldnt want to. DH does all my shots and when I iced by rear to get ready for it I felt him poke me and then he stopped and said "Im sorry this needle is different.. its big!" lol
It was not very helpful.. .but he got over it and did it :)
Ice your tushie first!!! Last night I barely felt anything.
I just read one of the PP;s warms the needle.. I havent done that.. wonder if I need to...
Thankfully tonight is my last night of PIO!! on to supps

My Dr told me I would have to do the PIO shot a total for 4 times.
I am scared as s**t!!
I dont know if my DH will want to do it for me but he will have to man up!

Its really not that bad .. I always ice it, and I hold the needle in my hand to warm it up then after injecting I sit on a heating pad...

My DH was nervous to do the PIO shots. I'm still stimming but now he's not nervous. I had him "practice" by giving me my Menopur shots every night. He's gotten comfy sticking me wtih a needle now that he's not nervous about the size of the needle or hurting me. What about having your husband try the smaller needles first?

I have been doing it myself daily since December 28th! I am lucky the first one I did was after coming out of anesthesia!

I have two needles, one is huggge and you use that to draw out the meds because it is in oil it's thick. The you switch to a smaller one, but when I say smaller it is like an inch and a half long and still thick. DH thinks it's inhumane I have to do it and thinks I should go to a doctor daily and have it done.

But in all honestly it isn't that bad. I ice then heat after, and have tried heat-heat, and ice-ice too, it really doesn't make a difference.

I inject into my upper thighs, I get welts, itchiness and numbness, all of that is the worst. The actual injection isn't bad. I can't do it in my rear myself and DH is out of the question. I do these verrry slowly.

I do my own PIO(in the butt) and I don't have any problems. I heat before and after. My nurse said not to use ice because it makes the oil clump up, but I know plenty of girls that have used the ice without problem. After the first few times it's so easy. Good Luck
