39 weeks...timing contractions?
ok so i think im having contractions because my stomach keeps getting really tight, then it goes away...then it gets really tight again, etc...
however, there really is no PAIN associated with it...its uncomfortable, yes, but not PAINful...
my mom seems to think I should time this anyway...
is this true?? do i bother timing contractions if they are not painful?????????
i have no idea what's going on here LOL

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
see if they stop if you move around, eat, lay down, etc. but it couldnt hurt to time them and see. id do it for a while and see if there is a pattern. my dr said to call when they are 5 minutes apart for an hour. good luck!

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
This happened to me during my induction. They were a few min apart. The nurse had me walk the hallway and by my second round of cervidil they became painful.

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
I had them and didn't have pain associated with it. Then only reason I even knew I had them in the beginning was because during my NST's they asked me if I could feel it. They then had me feel my belly so I would know that I was having one and they told me if they didn't go away if I moved around then to keep track

Sounds like it was just BH...but with the shooting pains right after it sounds like you're getting very close! That was happening to me a few days before DD arrived.

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
Same thing is happening over here! I timed them and came at 700, 704 708 and stopped at 712, now I feel like I have one or two here and there. Maybe we'll have babies together

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
With DS I started what felt like period cramps at 5 in the morning the day before I gave birth. I had cramping all day that intensified. Make sure to walk as much as you can to get it going. And yes, I would time it! This may be it!

thats pretty much how i was/am...
and Ali, that is the exact conflict im having...everyone's always saying "you will KNOW when you're in labor" but ive heard so many stories of people who DIDNT know they were, or were having contractions...
i just hate the uncertainty of it all

Re: 39 weeks...timing contractions?
Just keep timing them. It might be the start of something. I remember thinking "this is not so bad" and than as they got closer and more consistent the pain was horrible. Good Luck!
